Plastic Tags

Plastic-Tags.com is a website of E.R. Perry Signs & Engraving LLC – "The engineer's source for engraved plastic tags", plastic signs, legend plates, cable tags, valve tags, engraving blanks and grommet tags. From food handling facilities to space launching, we have got you covered.

We are a business to business (B2B) facility meeting the needs of large and small companies of all types. We take pride in being known for our quality product and dependable customer service. We rely on repeat orders from satisfied customers. We offer a cart that allows you to order a broad range of "standard" dimensioned plastic and metal tags and signs. Most orders come in via email from companies already in our system. Use our custom quote option if you do not see what you are looking for in our standard items. To meet your unique needs we can work from engineered specifications. More commonly simple drawings are sufficient and can be sent us by email, fax or postal service. We work well from Excel files, PDFs, Word and some DXFs. Review our specifications page for layout and formatting details and our orders/policy page to assist you with ordering.

We also offer dimensioned and beveled edged blank stock for those who wish to do their own engraving. We can even bend plastics and cut out most custom shapes that you might need. If you cannot find what you are looking for give us a call anyway, because chances are that we can either make it or know exactly where to go to get it.

Glossary of Engraving Terms

In our world there are words used that are not always what the customer actually wants. Daily we hear the terms, Phenolic, Traffolyte, Lamicoid, Bakelite and such. So here is a glossary to help you understand the jargon in our engravers world. We have borrowed from Wikipedia for some of this.

Engraving in the application of this website's service is the practice of incising text and designs onto a hard flat surface, by cutting grooves into it with the use of machines. In our case the machines are rotary style. Basically we run small milling machines. Plastics and metals can be used.

Laser engraving, which is different from laser marking,[1] is the practice of using lasers to engrave an object. Laser marking on the other hand just discolors the surface, without cutting into the surface. The technique does not involve the use of inks, nor does it involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface directly. The machines for laser engraving and laser marking are the same, so that the two terms are sometimes confused by those without knowledge or experience in the practice. The lamicoids used must have laser engraving compatibility.

Environmental Ethic

We have a policy of using material made within the United States under the guidelines of our environmetal protection standards. We can order material from companies that manufacture abroad, but we do not include those sheets in our standard inventory. Our packing materials in the shipments you recieve is typically recycled air bags.  Businesses around town save packing materials from the merchadise they receive and pass it along to shops like ours that ship merchandise back out of the county.

We have recently built a new facility at the farm where we live.  This means we no longer commute to work and we are working with efficient power systems and lower overhead.  Renee commutes one mile to come to work.  The homestead is on solar, but not the office / shop manufacturing facility.  The profits from this business are reinvested into the production of pasture raised beef raised with as much environmental conscience as possible.

Through creating custom engraved tags, lamicoid labeling, and signage, we have become a resource and supply for professional men and women. Our product is reasonably priced and expeditiously prepared to each order’s specification. Our customer base includes numerous engineering firms, electricians, HVAC specialists, energy producers, building controls, cable and pipeline contractors, plumbers, solar installers, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, military applications, and more.

You can easily reach us by email or phone and offer a variety of shipping options to your office or site location. We are a custom fabricator whose intention is to create laser engraved tags to suit your needs, rather than limiting you into accepting our stock items.

Please contact us at (218) 387 9479 with any questions or concerns about our products. You can also email us at either Elizabeth.perry@plastic-tags.com or renee@plastic-tags.com, and we will respond back to you as quickly as possible.
